First Announcement of the Fourth Biannual International Conference
On Dharma and Abhidharma

PAPERS INVITED

We invite papers under any one of the following category that will be discussed in the sessions of the conference

1. Dharma; Different traditions in Comparative light;
2. Philosophy of Abhidharma in comparative light;
3. Philosophy of Abhidharma (Phenomenology and Psychology )as for example as understood through meditation- Vipassana, Yoga & Zen;
4. Chinese Tradition of Abhidharma and Nagarjuna's Philosophy
5. Tibetan Tradition of Abhidharma
6. Environment and Ecology as indifferent traditions including the Thai;
7. Abhidharma - Phenomenology, Epistemology and Metaphysics
8. Abhidharma and Modern Psychology ( with special reference to Mind and Matter)

Besides the above eight sessions there will be two sessions on Buddhist Inscriptions in Southeast Asia as part of this conference jointly organized by K.J. Somaiya Centre For South & Southeast Asian Studies. These two sessions envisage a survey of the Samskrit Inscriptions in Southeast Asia already known through the studies of stalwarts like Coedes, Majumdar and others and also will emphasize discovery of new ones reported in local languages of different Southeast Asian countries. It will also address the problems of epigraphy and paleography, the content of newly discovered inscriptions modifying or enlarging our understanding of the history and culture of Southeast Asia.
