Diploma Programme in Computer Management

 

The Programme aims at imparting to both employed and unemployed graduates sufficient professional skills in designing computer systems covering feasibility, systems analysis, systems design, programming, input/output design, systems audit and implementaotion. Adequate knowledge of important commercial applications will be given. Participants will also be exposed to the use of EDP in scientific and engineering applications. The program covers Cobal, Basic, Pascal and Fortran Languages in detail and so as to prepare the participants to write programs in these languages for commercial applications. The Program also encompasses the general philosophy of problem oriented languages hich could be used on a variety of computer systems. participants will have opportunity of using conventional data processing equipment as well as the computer systems available in Bombay.

 

This course will be beneficial to persons wishing to make EDP as their career and also the Operations Managers, Accountants, Operations Research Officers, Engineers and others who are required to use a digital computer in the course of their professional work.

 

 









Admission Criteria

 

Every candidate to be admitted to the Computer Management Programme should hold a Bachelor's Degree in any Faculty of this University or other University or other ''University / Institutions recognized as equivalent thereto.''

 

Selection of candidates for admission is based on aptitude test conducted by the Institute. Candidates are expected to have sufficient knowledge of mathematics to understand subject 3 (as given in the syllabus-Paper 3).

 

 

Admission Requirements

 

(a) Besides fulfilling the admission criteria, candidates must have mature experience in their own line of activity and a high degree of achievement motivation. They must satisfy the admission committee that their participation in the Diploma Programmes in Management would, besides fulfilling their personal needs, be in the larger interest of community development. (b) No participant can keep terms simultaneously for two University courses. (c) Selected candidate must provide a provisional statement of eligibility obtained from the Eligibility Department of the University of Bombay, if he has passed his last qualifying examination from the University other than Bombay University. (d) Certificate required for conformation of Eligibility should be submitted latest by the end of the first term. The eligibility is confirmed only on submission of the required Certificates (Original) to the Eligibility Department through the Institute. The admission of such candidates will be confirmed, only after their Eligibility is confirmed by the University.
