  • Dr. Mrs. S. S. Yeragi Reader in Botany and Teacher Mr. Rajkumar Sharma of Chemistry Department
    Awarded the Academic Excellence award for the year 2005 - 2006.

  • Dr. (Mrs.) S.S.Yeragi
    Received Women Achiever award for the year 2005.

  • Dr. (Mrs.) M.C. Sathe
    Reader in Zoology, attended the XIXth International. Congress of Zoology, Beijing, China during August, 2004, to present a research paper in the prestigious international conference.

  • Ms. S. M. Pawaskar
    Head, Dept. of Biochemistry, presented a Research Paper in the Xth Asian Pacific Congress on Clinical Biochemistry, Perth, Western Australia held from 18th to 23rd Sept., 2004.

  • Dr. Bhooshan Shanbhag
    Reader in Chemistry - achieved First Runner Up position in a, Nation-wide Quiz for Teachers organized by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

  • Bro. Mehul Tikekar has been selected for INTERNATIONAL PHYSICS OLYMPIAD. He has also received the HOMI BHABHA YOUNG SCIENTIST scholarship which will get through his education till Ph.D. new

  • Bro. Sagar Raiya bagged 2nd rank (in Maharashtra) in MH-CET (Medical) securing 197/200 marks new

  • Sis. Manali Kirloskar was the recepient of Second prize in the state level singing competition.

  • Bro. Trunal Helegaonkar has been selected to participate in the "International Enterprises Junior National Swimming Championship" to be held in Mumbai.

  • Our Girls Cricket team won the title at Dso tournament. Sis. Ramya Suramaniam of XI. Std. had the honour of representing Mumbai University team held at K.G. Mittal College, Malad.


Seminars , Conferences & Other activities


  • NAAC sponsored National Conference on “Best Practices in Higher Education” organised in September 2004.

  • UGC Sponsored Seminar on Honing for Excellence - Leadership and Communication Skills organised in January 2005.

  • 17th Research Scholars’ Meet in Chemistry organised in February 2005.

  • UGC sponsored State level Seminar on 'Nanotechnology - A Tiny Revolution" organised in September 2005.

  • World Year of Physics was celebrated on 17th and 18th December 2005 by Department of Physics.

       Various lectures and talks by eminent personalities were arranged by different  
       organizations in the college.

Other achievements


  • 10 Teachers have registered for Ph.D degree.

  • 20 Teachers of Degree College have received Research Grants for their projects from the UGC and the University of Mumbai.

  • Received sanction for the innovative programme from UGC, for Remote Sensing and GIS wherein a grant of 27 lacs is sanctioned alongwith a lecturer's salary for five years.

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS initiated by our college and has been approved by University of Mumbai for the affiliated colleges.
