The college has a library comprising 25,000 books and several journals
on various subjects. Students have an easy access to these. There is
also a facility of reading room within the library for all the
students. The library also has internet facilities to students and
staff.

A well-equipped air-conditioned computer laboratory is available with
28 IBM computers and 30 other computers. All these are connected
through LAN and internet.

The gymkhana on the third floor provides facilities
for indoor games such as chess, carrom, table tennis, etc. Besides this
the college has a large playground available and students use it to
play games such as volley ball, foot ball, cricket, etc. Along with
intra-College competitions held annually, the students have also
successfully participated in inter collegiate sports events in all
these games.

The College has a small health post equipped with basic first aid,
drugs and equipment to deal with emergency situations. Doctors from the
K. J. Somaiya Medical College visit the health post every week to
provide free medical aid to the students and staff. The College also
has contacts with local doctors to deal with other emergency
situations.

The College has recently set up a women’s
development cell to empower girl students, to create awareness about
issues related to women and to make the College campus a safe space for
women students. The Cell will organize lectures and interactive
sessions with experts in the field, hold essay and poster competitions,
conduct film shows and other cultural activities and regular group
discussions on different issues. The Cell is also meant to address
specific problems and grievances of women students.

The Students’ council is formed in
accordance with the provisions of the M.U. Act, 1994. The Principal is
the chairman of the Students’ council. The student members representing
Science and Commerce Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses, as well as
N.C.C., NSS, Gymkhana and Cultural Forum are nominated by the
Principal.

The Placement cell provides career and job opportunities to our
students at the Graduate and Post-graduate level. We orient our
students for interviews, group discussions, etc. and conduct campus
interviews for prestigious industries like Apex Industries, Patni
Computers, Cipla, Asian Paints, Ceat Tyres etc.

The college also believes in a strong interaction between teachers and
the parents. At least once a year, a formal parent-teacher’s meeting is
held. Besides this, at various formal and informal levels, the teachers
are in contact with the parents. For students having irregularities in
attendance, the teachers get in touch with the parents. The parents of
those students who are likely to go into the defaulter’s list, are
informed in advance by personal meeting and their wards are given a
chance to improve, so that their terms can be granted. For any
misbehaviour / misconduct, the Principal meets the guardian / parent
before taking any strict disciplinary measures. This helps to maintain
a discipline, with the humane approach that is required. There is also
a Parents Teachers Association set up to receive feedback from the
parents and to involve them in the growth of the College.
Apart from regular classroom
teaching, the students are provided with many outlets so as to make
their hidden talents flourish. These include the following:

Our NCC wing is a strong, active
wing that regularly participates in different events at state and
national levels, such as parades, camps, events, etc. Many of our
students have been awarded recognitions and prizes at different levels.
In 2002-03, Cdt. Tejashree Raorane of this institution was chosen for
the Vice Chancellor’s Awards for the BEST CADET. NCC unit of the
college have been honoured with Vice Chanceller's banner of Mumbai
university for the year 2003-2004.

We believe in our obligation to the
Society and hence, our NSS wing is deeply involved in various social
activities. Every August, the NSS wing of the college takes initiative
in organizing a blood donation camp. The college has a huge donor
database, that is often tapped to get blood for the patients. We
collect on
an average more than 100 blood donors for every camp organized and the
participants are our own students and teachers. more

A specialised training centre for school students to prepare them for
Brihanmumbai Talent Search (BTS), State Talent Search (STS), National
Talent Search (NTS) examinations is setup at the college. The training
is impaired to students of standard VIII and IX in Marathi and English
medium.

Culture includes art, music, film,
literature and various other forms of expression. In our College we
understand culture in the true sense. Through the Cultural Forum, which
consists of student representatives and teachers, we actively promote
various activities through out the year. Before the winter break, a
week
long cultural festival is conducted which includes various
competitions. The cultural week ends
with a College day programme put together and show casing talents of
the students of the College.
The college is planning to organise Intercollegiate cultural festival
from the academic year 2006 - 2007.

The College publishes its annual
magazine Sanskriti to encourage creative expressions of both, the
students and the Staff. The magazine is multilingual; and has sections
in English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati. The magazine also serves as a
space for acknowledging student and staff achievers and is also a
record of the various activities conducted through the year. The
sanskriti magazine of 2004 - 2005 was dedicated to the TSUNAMI victims
and the magazine of 2005 - 2006 will be dedicated to EINSTEIN to
commomorate the centenary of Einstein theory.

‘Voices’ is a weekly campus
newsletter, published since December 2003, on every Monday. It voices
the various events on the campus and achievements of the students and
staff members. The editorial team comprises students, staff and the
management.

The Science Association is formed to
create and arouse interest in the field of science beyond the
curriculum. Through out the year, the Association organizes talks by
eminent scientists and other experts in various fields, slide shows,
Science Exhibition and an annual Science Quiz.

The Nature Club aims to enhance
students’ relationship with their environment and also to make them
aware of nature related issues. This club organizes different
activities and
programmes like slide and film shows, invited talks, poster
competitions, Nature Quiz, Nature Trails, etc.

The College organizes various short
term courses for students and teachers on varied topics like
Communication Skills, Photography, Flower Arrangement, Chocolate
making, Perfume making, First Aid, etc. These courses are conducted by
in house experts and visiting faculty from outside the College.
