activities among its members.

What
we offer
We
offer a
single
on-line platform
for
all KJSCE Alumni world-wide.
We
offer
a
unified forum for all KJSCE Alumni
to network and interact with other fellow KJSCE Alumni. This is a pool that
provides a wealth of knowledge, experience and technical skills, which each
alumni may contribute to, and draw
from.
The
Alumni
Registry
at the KJSCE Alumni website will enable you to potentially locate and network
with other KJSCE Alumni in your local area of residence, explore new career
opportunities with other technically skilled individuals who may share your
areas of interest, and/or simply locate other alumni with whom you may have lost
contact over the years.
We
also undertake
specific
projects
that will benefit the current and future students of our alma mater. A number of
projects have been identified, and opportunities to contribute in other ways are
constantly being explored. Please refer to the
projects for details about the proposals
currently being considered.
If
you would like to
volunteer and/or contribute financially, in
kind, or by donating your services to these or other projects, this is an ideal
forum to make a difference.
Want
to Volunteer
We
are seeking volunteers in the following areas, for each project:
- Reviewing the scope of the proposed
project(s), and determining the resources required and estimated
implementation timelines
- The fund raising efforts for the specific
project
-
Co-ordination with the Alumni in
India/the KJSCE authorities, to ensure that
projects are implemented within the projected timelines and earmarked
resources.
Please
click
here to review the currently proposed
projects.
We
are also seeking volunteers to assist with on-going updates and maintenance of
this website.
Please click
here and let us know how you would like to
help.
Projects
-
Book
Bank
Currently,
the books available in the book bank at KJSCE are limited to those required by
the syllabus. A proposal has been made to enhance the Book Bank to include
reference books, so that students may expand their knowledge beyond the
constraints of the syllabus. Please click
here, and let us know how you would like
to help with this project.
-
Book
sponsorship
There
have been an increasing number of students who have the knowledge and
intelligence to pursue a career in Engineering, but may not necessarily have
the financial resources. The Book Bank could also provide syllabus-oriented
books to such students. Please click
here, and let us know how you would like
to help with this project.
-
Lab
facilities
Much
of the lab equipment at the institute is in need for upgrade. As a result,
students lose the opportunity to gain relevant exposure to the tools used by
the industry. Details about the requirements of the labs are being collected.
Please click here, and let us know how you would like
to help with this project.
-
Sports
All
work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy - Many of the talented athletes and
sports people from KJSCE are unable to participate in events outside the city,
due to absence of uniforms, and right equipment. A proposal has been received
to sponsor a team. Details are being collected. Please click
here, and let us know how you would like
to help with this project.
-
Scholarships/Student
Loans
There
have been incidents of knowledgeable and deserving students running the risk
of not being able to complete their education, despite being admitted to the
institute on their merit. The reason primarily is financial hardship in some
form or another. Instituting a scholarship program and a student loan program,
will allow students who may not be able to afford the education and/or who
just need a helping hand due to temporary hardships, to pursue their
education. Please
volunteer or contribute, to help with
this project. If you are a member, and would like to share your views, please
send us your feedback.
-
Industrial
experience
As
any person who has worked in the real world will know, a day in the industry
is worth a week in the classroom. Can you (or someone you know) volunteer to
allow the students an on-site visit to give them exposure to the industry? If
yes, please click
here, and let us know how you would like
to help with this project.

Viewing the website
o
Why am I
getting the “Security Alert” pop-up when I visit the website? Is it safe for me
to proceed?
o
For increased security, the KJSCE Alumni
website uses a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate. Since the website is
co-hosted at a hosting service provider, a shared SSL certificate is used. If
the warning on the Security Alert suggests that the name of the security
certificate is invalid, or does not match the name of the site, it is safe to
accept the certificate, and proceed. You can avoid getting the “Security Alert”
pop-up every time by clicking on the “View Certificate” button from the
“Security Alert” pop-up window, and choosing the “Install Certificate” button.
Follow the prompts to store the certificate in your browser’s SSL Certificate
library.

- What are Bulletin Boards?
- A Bulletin Board (or BB) is a platform that
allows us to have multiple categories of discussions. At our website, we
currently have two BBs:
1) Discussion Forums and
2) Class Notes.
Note:
Discussion Forums and Class Notes are available to all registered members at
the website. No further registration is necessary.
Snapshots of
Discussion Forums and Class Notes BB are posted at the "Photos" page. Please
click
here to view the Photos. You do not have
to be registered at the website to view Photos.
Each BB has multiple
"Categories". Categories are simply containers that we use to organize our
different subjects of discussions, called "Forums". Each Category may have one
or more Forums.
To summarize:
- Bulletin Board or BB (e.g.
Discussion Forums) consists of several Categories
- Categories (e.g. Career
Opportunities) - each of which consist of one or more Forums
- Forums (e.g.
Opportunities in India) - each of which will have several Posts. This is
similar to a Yahoo Group
- Posts - messages/responses posted to that Forum
All registered members at the website have read/write access to all
the forums. No further registration is necessary.
- What are "Discussion Forums"?
- "Discussion Forums" is a BB with categories
classified by subject. Access to Discussion Forums is available to all
registered members at the website. No further registration is necessary.

each other, each independently moderated. You may participate in one or more
Forum, as you choose.

classmates, and get them together. Share stories, plans and events in your
lives. Access to Class Notes is available to all registered members at the
website. No further registration is necessary.

- Why are Discussion Boards/Class Notes
useful?
- Today we have over a hundred KJSCE related
individual Yahoo groups, which results in KJSCE Alumni losing contact with
other Alumni not in their "group". Some Yahoo groups are based on class/batch,
while others are generic and the only thing common to all it's members is that they are all KJSCE Alumni.
The
Bulletin Boards at the website allow us to discuss matters of common interest
with those that share our interest. It ensures that only messages of interest
to us reach our mailboxes. In addition, we continue to maintain access to ALL
KJSCE Alumni registered at the website.
Share your views only with
those who have the same interests, reduce unwanted e-mails to your mailbox AND
still keep in touch with all your Alumni friends!

that those legal formalities are fulfilled, we will be unable to accept any

all possible logistical support, to ensure that your funds are directly
