Announcing Somaiya Photo Contest - a part of Somaiya Vidyavihar’s 60th Foundation Day Celebration

Show us your creativity, Capture unexplored & interesting vistas of your campus.

Make your campus look like it never looked before and get your picture featured on the cover of Voices – the students newspaper and also across all Somaiya Vidyavihar’s social media platforms besides winning exciting prizes

Submit artistic, creative and iconic photographs representing any of our Somaiya Campuses.

Some basic rules to follow and points to remember

1. The theme for the competition is My Campus My World through My Lens. Which includes any Somaiya Campus.

2. The categories for the competition will be:-

  • Architecture/Infrastructure
  • People
  • Art and Culture
  • Food
  • Sports
  • Nature & Ecology
  1. The Contest is open to all Students, Faculty and Staff of Somaiya Educational Institutes
  2. The contest is open for online submissions only. Photographs must be in digital format.  
  3. Photographs have to be emailed as attachments (JPEG only)  to
     foundationday@somaiya.edu, the file size should be more than 2MB.
  4. We will use winning images for high quality reproduction hence the resolution should be at least 300 dpi at 8 x 10 inches
  5. Contestants can submit only one picture per category
  6. Each file should be named with your full name. Multiple entries should be named with your full name followed by consecutive numbers  
  7. Every photograph must have the following details in the email body text 
    Your Full Name, Your Institute Name, Name of the Campus where the picture has been taken and your mobile phone number
  8. Only basic editing is allowed (Exposure, Saturation, Contrast,        Highlights and Shadows)
  9. Last date of submission will be 5th September. No photos will be accepted after the deadline.
  10. There is no entry fee for the participation.
  11. Please use only your official Somaiya.edu email ids to send us your photographs. Entries received from personal ids will not be accepted.
  12. The winners will be decided by an eminent jury of photographers/ journalists and artists and also by the number of votes they get

**If replicas of the submitted picture are found over the internet, the participant will be directly disqualified**

Judging Process:

  1. The Top 50 photographs chosen by the jury will be printed and displayed in Natraj Lobby in K J Somaiya College of Engineering - Aryabhatta building
  2. Students can cast their votes by visiting Natraj lobby from 7th September - 10th September (till 10 am)
  3. One person will be allowed to vote only once.
  4. Finalists will be decided by 50% jury & 50% votes by the students.
  5. Winners will be announced on the 10th September during the Foundation day celebrations
