'Climate Change Vulnerability & Adaptation Planning for Urban Areas'


Mumbai, December 17th 2010 - The K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT - Bombay) jointly organized a workshop on 'Climate Change Vulnerability & Adaptation Planning for Urban Areas'. It aimed to bring together experts from academia, urban planning & policy making to discuss & deliberate upon the vulnerability of cities to climate change & efforts at mainstreaming adaptation strategies into the long-term development planning of the cities. The workshop presented the findings of a study sponsored by the organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) 'Flood Risks, Climate Change Impact & Adaptation Benefits in Mumbai' carried out Mumbai. The work shop was held at the MDP room, SIMSR Main building.
