Dr Kiran Sharma is a Professor and Area Chairperson in Marketing and International Business at the K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai.  Prior to this, she was the Co-Coordinator for the PGDM (Retail Management) program for the last ten years. Dr Kiran was the Chairperson of the SIMSR Global Marketing Conference and has also spearheaded the National Retail Summit for several years. She has 15 years of experience in academics including the D.Y. Patil School of Management, Navi Mumbai along with 7 years of industry experience with Sahara India Pariwar, Lucknow.

As a committed academician, she has taught some of interesting courses at the Institute. I have also taken up some visiting assignments and mentored countless students in their pursuit of academic and professional success. Dr Sharma teaches courses on Marketing Strategy, Consumer Behaviour, International Marketing, and Marketing Management. She has presented and published several papers in both National and International Journals and has attended various conferences of international repute. She has attended workshops on Marketing Strategy at Harvard University and Mixed Methods Research at St. Gallen, Switzerland.  She is also keenly interested in the case study development of Indian corporate.

Dr Sharma is keenly interested in research areas like Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Strategy, Consumer Decision Making, and the Relevance of emotions in Consumer Behaviour. Her dedication to research has resulted in publications in top academic journals and has been invited to speak at research conferences. Her work in consumer behaviour has focused on understanding the underlying motivations and drivers of consumer behaviour and has explored a wide range of topics, from the impact of social influence on decision-making to the role of emotions in consumer behaviour.

Dr Sharma has a Master’s in psychology and an M.B.A. from the University of Lucknow specializing in International Business and Marketing and a PhD from Saurashtra University.
