Dr. Radhika Kotecha is currently working as a Professor and Head of Information Technology Department, and also the Chairperson - Board of Studies in Information Technology at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra (an Autonomous Institute Affiliated to the University of Mumbai). She is also the Member - Board of Studies in Information Technology at the University of Mumbai. She has pursued her Ph.D. & M.Tech. with specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
She has 13 years of teaching experience in reputed engineering colleges in Gujarat and Maharashtra and has visited 15 countries in Europe and Asia for personal and technical exposure.
She is a young researcher who completed her doctoral studies at the age of 28 years and is passionate about Pattern Recognition & Genetic Algorithms. She has mentored and developed solutions to real-world/need-based problems, like Health Data Digitization Software for Schools of Somaiya Trust, Weather-based Load Forecasting using AI for Tata Power, AI-Powered Heatwave Watch System for IMD, Online Membership Application & Management Portal for the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Event Management System and Examiner Appointment System for K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology, Rainfall Nowcasting Research in collaboration with Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Sanitation-enhancing IoT Product, Train Crowd Management System, etc.
She was conferred the "S. K. Somaiya Award for Promising Faculty-Higher & Technical Education" by the Somaiya Trust, the "Best Social Impact Project of the Year" Award by the Computer Society of India, EduTech Leadership Award, Mentoring Award by ISTE, etc. She is recognized as an “Innovation Ambassador” by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) since 2020. She had received a grant from AICTE to organize training programs on “AI for Healthcare” for researchers and academicians as well as grant of INR 2.25 Lakh from AICTE and MIC for mentoring 05 IIC institutions under the Mentor-Mentee Program 2021-22.
She has published 02 books, 02 patents, and 38 research papers in reputed and indexed Journals & Conference proceedings. She serves as a committee member for doctorate evaluations, and as a reviewer of manuscripts for Scopus & WoS indexed Journals and Conferences across the world. She has delivered expert talks on topics in Artificial lntelligence and Innovation.
She is a life member of the ISTE and Convener of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), focusing on fostering the culture of innovation. She is a quality-oriented academician, researcher, and administrator, who loves to steer the youth towards contributing to the technological growth of the world.

Weather-based Short-Term Load Prediction using Artificial intelligence – for Tata Power — with india Meteorological Department, Maharashtra State Load Despatch Centre
instantaneous electrical load forecasting system that enables power companies to plan their daily operation ahead of time, avoid any disruptions to their customers and evade incurrence of additional costs — considers meteorological characteristics of the forecasting day along with the historic load as well as weather data and applies AI/ML algorithms to learn load consumption patterns. Focuses on SDG 11.
