Masters in Management Studies (MMS) 34th Batch 2016 - 18

In exercise of the autonomy granted by the UGC and notified by the University of Mumbai, SIMSR has opted to start a trimester-based MMS Programme. The admission to this Programme continues to be under the Directorate of Technical Education’s MH-CET entrance test and purely based on merit. SIMSR has the functional freedom to choose core and optional subjects as per the industry’s changing requirements from time to time.

 

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Started in 1983
  • Intake: 121 seats with 50 % seats reserved for Gujarati Linguistic Minority.
  • Two year full time AICTE  approved program, affiliated to University of Mumbai
  • Granted Autonomous status by UGC for five years from academic year 2013-2014
  • The Program under autonomy is spread across six trimesters.
  • The first year comprises of three trimesters, students are required to complete seven subjects of 100 marks each.
  • The second year comprises of three categories of subjects, namely compulsory, specialization and electives.
  • In trimester 4, the students are required to complete 3 compulsory subjects and 4 specialization subjects.
  • In trimester 5, they require to complete 2 compulsory, 3 specialization and 1 elective subjects.
  • In trimester 6, they are required to complete 3 compulsory, 2 specialization and 1 elective subjects. 
  • 2014-16 batch is the first batch to adopt the aforesaid trimester based approach.
  • Specializations offered : Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations Management
  • Programme was reaccredited in the year 2013 for a period of 3 years by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a body of AICTE,   Ministry of HRD, Govt of India.
  • Admission as per the guidelines of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt of Maharashtra

Pedagogy:

The pedagogy comprises case studies, projects, assignments, presentations, guest lectures, role plays, field visits, field projects and interactive classroom lectures. Students are expected to spend considerable time in self-study and come prepared for the classes.

Masters in Computer Application (MCA) 11th Batch 2016-19

 

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Intake: 60 seats (51%  Gujarati Linguistic Minority Seats (GLMS))
  • Started in 2006
  • Three year full time AICTE  approved programme, Autonomous Programme - affiliated to University of Mumbai         
  • Granted Autonomous status by UGC for five years from academic year 2013-2014
  • Conducted on semester basis
  • Programme was Accredited in November 2013 for a period of 3 years by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), a body of AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India.
  • Admission as per the guidelines of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt of Maharashtra
