  • Can an external student apply at the Somaiya Institue?
    Candidates can select from available options for details like; Internal (from an institute within the Somaiya Vidyavihar campus) / External, linguistic minority, other reserved / open, as per their status.
  • Can I make corrections in the submitted form?
    The information furnished by the candidate will be treated as final and no subsequent changes will be allowed. The institute will not be responsible for wrong entries made by candidates in the Pre-Admission form. Hence utmost care should be taken while filling the online application form. Candidates should verify the particulars once again before clicking on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • How can I make a payment for the Pre-Admission form?

    You can either use the online payment gateway (Debit / Credit Cards) or select to pay cash at the Somaiya Vidyavihar campus counters. Candidates selecting to pay cash at the Somaiya Vidyavihar campus counters please note, that your Pre-Admission forms will not be considered for the merit list unless the payment is received before the cut-off date mentioned on your acknowledgement slip. Please collect the receipt for the same. Your payment status will be updated on the page for forms filled in your account on the Somaiya Vidyavihar Admissions microsite at www.somaiya.edu. You can also reprint the acknowledgement slip again with the revised payment status

  • What happens if my online transaction is not successful?

    If due to any reason, the gateway response to us is unsuccessful you will still receive an acknowledgment where in the status of your online transaction will be marked as unsuccessful. If the response is unsuccessful but the payment has indeed got deducted / debited from your account, please do not try to re-submit the form. Wait for 24 Hours and then recheck the form status in your account on the Somaiya Vidyavihar Admissions microsite at www.somaiya.edu. Your payment status will be updated on the page for forms filled wherein you can reprint the acknowledgement slip again.

  • Do we need to submit the acknowledgement receipt?
    On successfully submitting the online Pre Admission form, an acknowledgement with “Online application no” is automatically generated. Candidates are requested to take a print of the same.
  • Where can I get the Somaiya college prospectus?
    A link to download the prospectus will be provided in the acknowledgement page which can be either printed directly or can be saved for future reference.
  • Do I need to fill-in my personal details every time I fill in a new Pre-Admission form?
    The first time, you submit an application form, your details like address, photograph and personal details are saved to a Pre-Admissions account created for your convenience. This account can accessed through the link "My Account" on the Somaiya Vidyavihar Admissions Micro Site Home Page. At the start page of every form, candidates are asked enter their Email Id and password to register themselves for the account. A unique user id is generated and displayed. Please save this user id and the entered password carefully, as it will allow you to access your account, you can also use your Email ID and password. Using this account you can now submit Pre Admission forms for other courses offered at Somaiya Vidyavihar, your personal data will be entered automatically. The account also allows you to reprint acknowledgment slips for Pre Admission forms submitted by you.
  • How do I know when the merit lists will be published?

    Merit list will be published at www.somaiya.edu only. Candidates are advised to visit the website periodically for updates. No separate intimation will be sent to candidates selected for the admission. The First merit list will be announced on June 10, 2013 on the same website. Candidates must carry one copy of the printed Acknowledgement Slip along with the relevant documents while attending physical counseling before final admission. Merit lists will be generated for In-house/Linguistic minority / Open /reserved candidates separately.

  • How much does it cost to study at Somaiya Vidyavihar?

    Somaiya Vidyavihar levies tuition fees based on the guidelines of the University of Mumbai and as directed by the Shikshan Shulk Samiti of the Government of Maharashtra. For information regarding the tuition fees for various courses please refer to the coursewise information available here

    We currently do not have any financial aid for students.

  • Do you accept transfer students? I've already done one year of my degree course, and I want to change institutions.

    Transfer students may be accepted based on the rules set down by the University of Mumbai.

  • Do you have an MBA course? How can I find out about it?

    Yes we do have MBA courses. You can find out more on the site of our Management Institute.

    Degrees are awarded by the University of Mumbai. However if you wish to determine whether a student was a graduate of Somaiya Vidyavihar you can write to the respective Principal of the college and he/she will verify the same.

  • How do I pick up my degree certificate? I've lost my original certificate - can I get a copy?

    Degrees are awarded by the University of Mumbai. You may need to contact them for a duplicate copy.

  • Can I use the library at Somaiya Vidyavihar?

    The libraries are currently accessible to students of Somaiya Vidyavihar only. In the future we may allow access to non students through a membership route.
