Dear Colleagues,

Department of Statistics of K. J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce organises one-day workshop (Saturday 22nd July 2017) on “Statistical Analysis using R software”. Those who are interested are requested to register their names before 20th July 2017.

Title of workshop: -     Statistical Analysis using R software.

Date: -                            Saturday 22nd July 2017

Registration fee:

               Students:                    Rs. 400/- per student

               Others:                        Rs. 500/- per participant

R is a programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics. The R language is widely used among statisticians, researchers and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis. R is a system for statistical computation and graphics. It provides, among other things, a programming language, high level graphics, interfaces to other languages and debugging facilities.

In the last few years, the open source R statistics language has exploded in popularity and functionality, emerging as the data scientist's tool of choice. Today, R is used by over 2 million analysts worldwide, many having been introduced to its elegance and power in academia.

Purpose of Workshop: - The Workshop focuses on the calculation of statistical measures such as measures of central tendency, dispersion, correlation and regression coefficients; probabilities based on Binomial, Poisson, Hypergeometric Normal, t, c2 distribution; testing of hypothesis (Parametric and Non-parametric), ANOVA.

A Schedule and registration form of this workshop is attached with this letter.

Registration fee includes study material, participation certificate, tea, breakfast and lunch
