Dr. Pushpendra Rai works as an Associte Professor in the Department of Science & Humanities at K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar. He has been working there for the past 15 years and has an overall research experience of 17 years. He was in Charge of the Chemistry Laboratory.

He has completed his Ph.D. inChemistry from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT, Matunga). His research focus area is surface chemistry, advanced oxidation processes, polymers, nanomaterials synthesis, and photocatalytic oxidation of waste water pollutants. He has related research publications in international journals and in proceedings of international conferences. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow in the material science and material engineering department (MSME) at IIT Bombay. During the research project, he has developed a photocatalytic reactor for the photocatalytic oxidation of wastewater treatment.

Dr. Pushpendra is a life time member of various Science and Technical organization such as Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Indian Association of Nuclear Chemistry and Allied Science (IANCAS).
