Abstract: A learning mechanism is proposed to develop learners’ solitary as well as social learning strategies. In addition, the learners’ difficulties towards learning conceptual courses such as Physics and their learning styles towards such courses are also well thought-out for making this activity effective. The authors used internal assessment component of the undergraduate engineering curriculum of the course Engineering Physics for experimenting this learning activity. Authors proposed a list of various technical topics from the curriculum to the learners and asked them to present the topic with all essential details in the form of a technical poster. A clear idea was given to the learners to differ this poster from a common informative type poster usually made at the high school level. Poster was evaluated using metrics like presentation, innovativeness, creativity, understanding of the concept, applications and viva based on the topic. The novelty of this technique is contained in the fact that it covered many aspects of teaching-learning in a single activity. This includes group activity and group assessment, individual assessment, peer learning and reviews from the teachers. The main idea behind this activity was to go beyond classroom learning and to make learners learn applicability of the technical topics by analysis as well as by observations of other’s posters. On an average, 90% learners from a randomly collected feedback sample set agreed that this is an effective tool to enhance their analytical skills and coordination with
