This programme is designed for those who have basic knowledge of Sanskrit language and who want to pursue higher studies in Sanskrit.
In the first year, students pursue the study of Sanskrit at a higher level of proficiency and are introduced to various genres of literature. Students get the opportunity to study selections from the Vedas, texts on grammar, philosophy, poetry, poetics, etymology, etc. In alignment with the NEP 2020 guidelines the programme will also offer a strong base in research methodology. Students will get an opportunity of on job training experience in the second semester.
In the second year of the programme, students can select any one subject as their specialization, from among Vyakarana (Grammar), Sahitya (Indian Poetics) or Darshana (Indian Philosophy).
