Dear Students, Faculty Members and Staff Members,

Greetings!!

We are excited to share that Somaiya Vidyavihar University is actively participating in the nationwide observance of Anti-Ragging Week, designated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) from August 12th to 18th, 2023. This week-long initiative aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging and foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment for all.

We have organized a series of engaging activities to encourage meaningful participation and dialogue within our campus community. Here's a quick overview of the events planned:

1. Student Pledge Board: Take a stand against ragging by signing our pledge board, displayed throughout the campus from August 12th to 18th 2023.

2. Essay Writing Competition: Express your thoughts on ragging's impact and solutions through our online competition. Results will be announced on August 17th, 2023.

3. Poster Making Competition: Showcase your creativity by participating in our poster design contest. Winners will be unveiled on August 17th, 2023.

4. Guest Lecture by Ms. Kshitija Sawant: Join us on August 17th  from 10:00 to 11:00 am for insights on nurturing psychological resilience and creating a ragging-free campus.

5. Street Play & Skit: Be part of impactful performances by the Student Councils of KJSCE & KJSCED on August 17th, 2023, emphasizing unity and respect.

6. Guest Lecture by Mr. Ajit Jobanputra: Explore the legal aspects of ragging with Mr. Ajit Jobanputra on August 17th from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

7. Sports Event: Engage in spirited sports activities on August 18th, 2023, reinforcing the values of teamwork and camaraderie.

8. Prize Distribution Ceremony: Celebrate the winners of various competitions on August 17th, 2023, from 1:00 pm onwards.

We encourage you all to actively participate in these events and contribute to our collective effort to eradicate ragging and promote a culture of respect, empathy, and harmony on our campus.
