Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Geography, Agricultural Science, or Engineering with specialization in Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics.
For undergraduate degree holders, a minimum of 2 years of experience in geospatial data analysis and decision support systems, with specialization in ARCGIS and DSSAT.
Required Experience:
Experience managing geospatial databases and creating thematic maps using ARCGIS or similar GIS software for crop yield prediction and environmental mapping.
Proven experience (Publications) in integrating geospatial data with decision support tools, including familiarity with crop modeling software like DSSAT.
Previous experience in coordinating field data collection, managing student projects, and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations.
Job Description:
Geospatial Data Analysis and Mapping: Manage geospatial databases using ARCGIS for crop yield predication, water, soil and vegetation mapping based on the priority of the project. Create thematic maps and visualizations for decision-making.
Decision Support Tools Integration: Integrate geospatial data with Decision Support Systems. Investigate crop modelling softwares like DSSAT for main crops of GBL/KIAAR. Optimize data workflows and provide insights for sustainable agriculture. Conduct training sessions to enhance technology adoption.
