Head Table Tennis coach

Job Description

 

Qualification: Graduation, BPEd or BSc Sports

Minimum ITTF Level 2 Certification desired or equivalent.

Sports Achievement: Former professional, national, or state-level Table Tennis player is highly preferred.

 

Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of coaching experience, with proven success at competitive levels (state/national). Previous experience as a Head Coach or Lead Coach.

•Design and implement short- and long-term training plans for various age groups and skill levels for Somaiya schools, colleges, academy and University players.
•Conduct high-performance training sessions focused on technique, fitness, strategy, and match preparation.
•Identify and nurture talent for inter-school, inter-college, inter-university, district, state, and national-level competitions.
•Track individual progress through regular assessments and feedback sessions.
•Develop an annual calendar for courses, camps, trials, internal matches, and tournament participation.
•Coordinate with strength & conditioning staff for sport-specific physical development of players
•Conduct open trials, talent hunts, and outreach events across school, college, other Somaiya campuses and community platforms.
•Lead, mentor, assign roles, manage schedules, and conduct periodic training for coaching staff.
•Monitor the condition and availability of tables, flooring, lighting, and training equipment.
•Accompany players to external tournaments as coach or manager when required.
•Host TT leagues, workshops, and championships at the academy and university level.

Key Skills

Should be able to lead a well-qualified team of Table Tennis coaches
Deep technical knowledge of Table Tennis rules, techniques, and strategies.

Excellent communication, and organizational skills.

Passion for youth development and coaching ethics.

Computer literacy for performance tracking, video analysis, and communication.
