Job Description
Qualification: Graduation, Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Exercise Science
Certifications (any one or more):
Certified by AFC-C License, or equivalent grassroots certification.
Sports Achievement: Former professional, national, or state-level Player is highly preferred.
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience or active participation at district/state-level Football. Experience working with children or youth programs is desirable.
•Assist in planning and conducting football training sessions across different age groups and levels.
•Deliver skill-based drills, conditioning routines, and tactical exercises.
•Support technical and tactical development aligned with the academy’s philosophy.
•Focus on foundational coaching for players aged 6–14 in grassroots and school programmes.
•Identify potential talent and help transition them into elite coaching groups.
•Ensure age-appropriate training emphasizing fun, discipline, and learning.
•Prepare players for inter-school, inter-academy, and AIU/University competitions.
•Manage warm-ups, substitutions, and feedback during friendly and competitive matches.
•Support logistics for match setup and travel, as assigned for Somaiya FC and SVU teams.
•Track attendance, performance, and progress of assigned batches and credit courses.
•Assist in giving individual feedback and maintain training records.
•Use basic video analysis tools or observations for performance reviews.
•Oversee safe setup and removal of equipment such as cones, bibs, poles, and goals.
•Ensure playing surfaces are safe and training areas well organized.
•Work closely with the Head Coach, strength & conditioning team, and other staff.
•Attend coach education workshops, internal planning sessions, and parent meetings.
Key Skills
Sound knowledge of basic Football techniques and training principles
Patience and child-friendly coaching approach
Certification in child safety or safeguarding
Ability to adapt training to varied skill levels
CPR and First Aid certification.
Basic knowledge of injury prevention and player wellbeing.
