The Dean Student Welfare Committee of Somaiya Vidyavihar University organized the auspicious occasion of Gurupornima on 10th July 2025, at the Kalidas Auditorium, K.J. Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
The celebration was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Satish Modh, along with Dr. Urmi Thakkar and other distinguished dignitaries present on stage. The event commenced with a soulful performance by Ms. Gargi Kadam, TYBBA, who presented a graceful Kathak dance in the form of Ganesh Vandana, setting a devotional tone for the gathering.
The program beautifully highlighted the relevance of a Guru in the life of a student. The keynote speech delivered by the Honourable Chief Guest shed light on the significance of Guru and the invaluable role played by teachers and mentors in shaping an individual’s life. The insights shared resonated deeply with both students and faculty.
Following the addresses, refreshments were arranged for the faculty members and dignitaries. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Asst. Professor Shavian Pandya Madam, expressing gratitude to the guests, faculty, and students for their presence and participation.
The event was efficiently coordinated under the guidance of Event Incharge, Asst. Prof. Satish Bhor, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and more than 50 faculty members and dignitaries.
The celebration not only paid tribute to the eternal bond between Guru and disciple but also created an atmosphere of respect, gratitude, and inspiration within the campus community.
