Mamata Madhusudan Tendulkar - Somaiya Education Faculty

I, Dr. Mamata Madhusudan Tendulkar has been serving at Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce since 2009. I holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, along with a Master's degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology. I am deeply passionate about environmental conservation and is committed to promoting sustainable practices through teaching, research, and community engagement. My academic and research pursuits focus on addressing contemporary environmental challenges through scientific inquiry, awareness, and community-based initiatives.

I strongly believe in working at the grassroots level to create awareness about environmental challenges and to encourage communities to adopt environmentally responsible practices. Her primary areas of interest include solid waste management, water conservation, and menstrual waste management.

I have made significant contributions to the field of menstrual waste management through my research on the environmental, chemical, microbial, and health aspects of menstrual hygiene products. My work focuses on promoting sustainable menstrual hygiene practices, environmentally safe disposal methods, and raising awareness about the ecological impacts of menstrual waste. Through my research, I have explored the composition and safety of menstrual hygiene products and advocated for sustainable menstrual waste management practices that protect both public health and the environment.

I actively conduct awareness programmes, educational initiatives, and research activities to encourage responsible menstrual waste management and promote sustainable solutions. Through my teaching, research, and community outreach, I strive to inspire students and communities to adopt environmentally responsible practices and contribute towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
