I have been in the field of education as Assistant Professor in Microbiology since 1995 and as Associate Professor since 2014, Professor since Sep 2023 at K.J.Somaiya College of Science and Commerce. I have served as-

I have obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Microbiology and have done my Ph.D in Food preservation. My area of expertise is Environmental Microbiology and have guided several M.Sc. Projects based on Bioremediation of soil, Waste treatment, Heavy metal Biosorption, etc. I am a recognized Ph.D guide of University of Mumbai.

I have about 20 research publications in National and International Journals and have made oral/ poster presentations at several National and International Conferences. I have received Minor research project grant from University of Mumbai for 6 projects so far and also from The Somaiya Trust for the project ‘Biosorption of Lead’.

I have been awarded the Overall Enhancement Award by Somaiya Vidyavihar in Sep 2014.

I have also been invited as a resource person for several workshops during May 2018 to May 2019 on Flipped learning, ICT in higher education and ICT tools in Assessment and Evaluation and trained over 500 faculty members from our sister Institutes- K.J.Somaiya College of Engineering, K.J.Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce and other Institutes such as D.Y.Patil University: School of Biotechnology. I have also been the resource person for online synchronous training session at Department of education, SNDTWU for a national workshop and at the Department of Special Education, SNDTWU for the Short term Course on ‘Pedagogic Innovations: Challenges and Transformations in Inclusive higher education’ organised by RUSA in association with HRD-UGC. I strongly believe that new pedagogy’s should be experimented for effective Teaching-learning process in higher education Institutes.

I have also a keen interest in societal developmental activities. My contribution has been recognised by the following accolades- ‘Prerna Samman’ on International Women’s Day by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Mahila Mandal, Mumbai Wing in 2014 and National Level Award- ‘Sitadevi Saravgi Pratibha Puruskar’ in Sep 2014 by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Mahila Mandal, at Delhi.
