Dr. Gaurav Gadgil is an Associate Professor (History & Asian Studies) in the Somaiya School of Civilisation Studies. Earlier he has worked in the capacity of Assistant Professor (History) in K.J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce (Autonomous), Assistant Professor (P.G. Department of History) in S.N.D.T. Women's University, and Assistant Professor (Mass Media) in Ramnarain Ruia College. Apart from this, Dr. Gadgil has been a visiting faculty and guest faculty in many prestigious institutions of the city.

Dr. Gadgil has been invited as a speaker and resource person by prestigious institutions like National Centre for Performing Arts (Mumbai), Virasat Arts Foundation (Kolkata), Nagpur Literary Festival, Delhi Literary Festival, Asiatic Society of Bengal, Asiatic Society of Mumbai, Nehru Centre (Mumbai), Piramal Enterprises, Indian Merchants Chamber (Women's Wing), YPO Gold Mumbai, M.S. University of Baroda, amongst others.
