Biography
Sejal Shah was born on January 8, 1984, in Mumbai, India. She completed her schooling in Mumbai and earned both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Engineering from the University of Mumbai. She has been serving as a faculty member at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology since August 2007.
Her teaching and academic interests include Database Management Systems (DBMS), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Design Thinking & Innovation. She has presented around 22 research papers at international conferences and has published five papers in international journals. She has also been awarded Minor Research Project Grants from the University of Mumbai on two occasions.
In recognition of her academic and leadership contributions, she was awarded Best Faculty Coordinator by S4DS in January 2025. She is an active departmental member of key committees including Research and Development, NPTEL, and the Institution Innovation Cell. She also serves as the Faculty Coordinator of S4DS.
