Dr. Rudraksha Sakrikar is working as an Assistant Professor of Sanskrit at Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham, K. J. Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies since February 2013. He teaches various topics related to Sanskrit language, Systems of Indian philosophy, Yogashastra to various courses on graduate and post graduate level. Dr. Rudraksha received his B.A. (Sanskrit) degree from University of Pune and M.A. (Sanskrit) degree from Banaras Hindu University. He was awarded with six gold medals and one silver medal for standing first in M.A. in the Department of Sanskrit as well as Faculty of Arts of Banaras Hindu University in the year 2008. Dr. Rudraksha completed Ph.D. in Sanskrit from University of Mumbai in 2019 under the guidance of Dr. Kala Acharya. Topic of his research was - 'An Indian Perspective Regarding the Science of Weather Forecast as Described in Sanskrit Texts.'

 

Dr. Rudraksha has co-edited two books and has contributed several entries for the following books - 'The Hindu-Christian Dictionary' and 'Essentials of Yoga'. He is co-investigator of the research project of preparing 'The Dictionary of Yoga Terms' funded by Central Sanskrit University, formerly known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. Dr. Rudraksha has published more than 10 reseach papers in National and International Journals and Conferences. His areas of interest are Indian Philosophy, Yogashastra, Sanskrit language, Ancient Indian Sciences and Indian classical Music. Dr. Rudraksha has also learnt the art of playing Sarangi, the classical Indian bowed instrument from Pt. Santosh Mishra ji of Banaras Gharana.
