Dr. Bharati Sunil Makhijani
Associate professor,
Dr. Bharati Makhijani is an accomplished academician, researcher, and author, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Dr. Shantilal K. Somaiya School of Commerce and Business Studies, Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai. With over 23 years of professional experience, including 16 years at Somaiya, she has made significant contributions to teaching, research, academic administration, and student development.
Her academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Commerce, M.Com., M.Phil., M.A. in English, B.Ed., and SET qualification in Commerce. Her teaching and research interests encompass commerce, business studies, marketing strategies, consumer behaviour, human resource management, entrepreneurship, e-commerce, digital transformation, and financial management.
Dr. Makhijani has published numerous research papers in reputed national and international journals, including Scopus-indexed and ABDC-listed journals, and has contributed chapters to several academic books. She is the author of a Book on "Strategic Management" and has received recognition for her contributions to education and research. Her academic achievements also include published Indian patents and copyright registration in emerging areas of technology and retail management.
In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, she actively contributes to curriculum development, academic committees, research guidance, faculty development programmes, and scholarly activities. She has served as a resource person for research methodology and reference management workshops and is involved in editorial and academic review activities.
Dr. Makhijani is deeply committed to excellence in teaching, continuous learning, ethical academic practices, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that recognizes the potential of every student. Her professional philosophy reflects a strong dedication to institutional development, research excellence, and preparing students to meet the evolving challenges of the business world.
