Dr. Daly Davis is an Associate Professor in Chemistry in the Somaiya Vidyavihar University. She obtained her Ph.D from Cochin University of Science and Technology. She has done her postdoctoral studies from University of Heidelberg, Germany and Israel Institute of Technology-Technion-, Haifa, Israel. Previously, she has worked as a scientist at various institutes of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) such as Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Institute of Plasma Research (IPR) and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). In addition, she was a visiting faculty member for the Integrated MSc Chemistry Course at the Center for Excellence in Basic Science, Mumbai. She Joined Somaiya Vidyavihar University in 2021 as an assistant professor at S K Somaiya College.
She has 19 years of research experience from various academic institutions. She has 22 publications in peer reviewed high impact international journals and numerous international and national conference proceedings. She received public funded research grants from various agencies such as BRNS, CSIR and DST. She was given the SVU Seed Grant as well. She received Dr. S K Somaiya award for Excellence in Research (2022-2023)
Her field of research is Chemical Physics. She is currently active in electron – molecule collision experiments and Raman Spectroscopy. Quantum chemical calculations, Astro-chemistry, electron induced chemical reactions in biological and polymeric systems and DNA repair studies are her focus areas. She is a Ph D guide in Chemistry. She is also a consultant in spectroscopy.
