Coaxially fed two layer stacked MSA for WLAN applications
- Abstract
This paper discusses a new compact microstrip patch antenna in stacked configuration. The characteristics of the antenna were obtained in terms of return loss, gain and bandwidth and compared with the conventional single layer microstrip patch antenna. Antenna was coaxially fed for impedance matching with 50O coaxial cable and designed for a frequency of (4.75GHz -5.25GHz). Entire simulation was performed using Advance Designing Software (ADS). The antenna was found to be suitable for IEEE 802.11n WLAN communication standard and at the same time enhances the gain and bandwidth significantly.
