As and when we move into the future, we see great development in technology towards the effective use of renewable energy resources. With concerns over ever increasing atmospheric pollution and the limited petroleum oil supplies, there has been some stimulated research on new electric, solar and hybrid vehicle technologies. Our primary motive is to avoid the use of fossil fuels wherever possible and optimize the utilization of renewable energy. The problem of pollution also gets solved as the solar car will have very less or no emission at all. We have designed a charge controller with MPPT capability for an off grid system. The system, here, refers to the solar vehicle. We incorporate a charge controller in the system as it smartly delivers power from the PV array to the connected load (motor in our case) and the battery bank. This charge controller is different from the other ones in the market as we can interface it with a motor controller. In simpler words, some of the operations could be intervened by the charge controller based on the response of the motor controller.
