  • Abstract

Intravenous (IV) therapy is crucial in healthcare, efficiently delivering substances into the bloodstream for swift absorption. Despite widespread use, challenges like drip rate errors persist. Technological advancements, including IoT integration, aim to enhance IV therapy safety. IV fluid drip systems face potential inaccuracies, posing risks to patient health, with manual regulation attributing to life-threatening errors. This paper addresses such challenges by developing an IoT-based drip monitoring system, emphasising the critical need for self-sufficient, non-contact systems, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The paper illustrates the objective of alerting healthcare professionals, reducing the risk of manual errors and ensuring timely interventions for enhanced patient care through the utilization of sensors and IoT technology.
