  • Abstract

In India large scale sugar industry was developed along with cogeneration power plant. The cogeneration plant is uses bagasse as a fuel. Sugar cane bagasse is a fibrous waste product of sugar refining industry. The bagasse burns and produces huge amount of ash which easily flies in air. This paper presents the current manufacturing processes and economics of bricks, measured and evaluated physical, chemical and mechanical soil properties of bagasse ash and construction products. The experimental evaluation of the bagasse brick with bagasse ash percentage varies from 20,30,40,50 and 60% and tested for moisture holding and compressive test. It is observed that the maximum compressive stress obtained is 1.272 N/mm2.Further the chemical analysis is carried out with XRD. The bricks are baked at temperature 600to 850OC and baking time from 6to 8 Hrs.
