  • Abstract

India’s rural population faces several shortages of healthcare resources. It confronts several issues regarding healthcare services, such as lack of qualified personnel, accessibility to care, poor income, mental health issues etc. Because of this inaccessibility, there have been raised levels of starvation, maternal and newborn mortality, low life expectancy, and low immunization rates. Initiatives like telemedicine are being implemented to solve these issues. Delivering medical care via telemedicine, establishing tiny hospitals in less populated areas, formalizing training and accountability initiatives for nearby healthcare professionals are some ways to ensure the needs of rural areas. The efforts like extension of mini hospitals into less populated areas, programs for accountability and training by making things official, subsidies offering funds for the purchase of equipment or less expensive land and electricity to healthcare facilities located in rural areas, enhancing health literacy in rural areas by organizing various programs related to healthcare etc. were taken into consideration including numerous other efforts. Over the years, the Indian government has launched several healthcare initiatives and programs, for example National Rural Health Mission and Ayushman Bharat. The major objective of this study is to learn more about rural healthcare facilities, the efficiency of government medical services programs, and the long-term effects on rural communities. Also, what steps may be taken to advance the health sector? Policymakers, stakeholder, and medical professionals who are trying to enhance rural healthcare in India will find great value in its conclusions. The study also shows whether government funding and support are sufficient or not.
