Eligibility for Admission

  • Mainly Polytechnic Student, If seats are Vacant out station student from other institute from somaiya group are eligible for application.
  • Hostel will forward its vacancy to The Manager students affairs (Smt.Babita Krishnan)for seat allocation to needy students.
  • Jr. College students and employed students are not eligible for polytechnic hostel admission.
  • New transfer of Undergraduate students can be admitted only on availability of rooms.

Admissions Process

For K.J.Somaiya Polytechnic student

  • Apply with parents’ permission through HOD.
  • If permitted purchase Admission form hostel office.
  • Fill Form Completely.
  • Attach necessary Documents & photographs.
  • Attach Anti ragging Affidavit.
  • Meet rector with parents for rectors approval.
  • Submit form with all necessary documents and fees DD /receipt of transaction payment through online of Fees.
  • Shift to allotted room.
  • Consumption of Food from the Hostel Mess is compulsory for all the students opting for admission in the hostels.
  • Local students’ admission for hostel will get consider after the outstation students admission.
  • Hostel and Mess Fees will be for 1 academic year only. Students will have to pay for the entire 1 academic year fees at the time of joining the hostel.

Students other than K.J.Somaiya Polytechnic

  • Apply with parent’s permission to HOI.
  • Submit application to Manager-Students’ Academic Affair (Smt.Babita Krishnan), in SIMSR college.
  • If permitted purchase Admission form hostel office.
  • Fill Form Completely.
  • Attach necessary Documents & photographs.
  • Attach Anti ragging Affidavit.
  • Meet rector with parents for rectors approval.
  • Submit form with all documents and DD /receipt of transaction payment through online of Fees.
  • Shift to allotted room
  • Consumption of Food from the Hostel Mess is compulsory for all the students opting for admission in the hostels.
  • Local students’ admission for hostel will get consider after the outstation students admission.

Documents Required

Admitted students must bring the following document on the day of arrival to Hostel:

  • Two LATEST Photograph has to brought for the making of the hostel I-CARD
  • College fee receipt

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Student who desire to cancel their hostel admission ( only under medical emergency of self or parents at home ) in the mid of their Academic Year , need to send an application for cancellation approved by their respective HOI with reasons, to the Warden /Rector . On the receipt of the application for cancellation, the process of cancellation and refund will be initiated in accordance with the rules and regulation. Students who wish to cancel their hostel admission need to fill a clearance form , available at the hostel office, a week before leaving the hostel.

Hostel Cancellation Charges

On cancellation of the hostel Admission the following will be done

  • The cancellation can be only
    • if admission of the college is cancelled and hence the hostel stands cancelled.
    • Cancellation is due to any medical emergency of the student.
    • Any other case will be at the discretion of the management.
  • In case of any cancellation during the Academic year the charges will be calculated on pro-rata basis.

Disclaimer

  • If for any said reason, students need to extend their stay in hostel, then there will be extra charged levied to them.
  • Vacation stay charges with residents, with prior approval of Institute’s Principal/Chair-person & Rector: 150.00 per day OR 3,000.00 per month whichever is lesser. Unauthorised vacation stay is strictly banned.
  • Hostel Deposit and Mess outstanding amount will be refundable only on completion of course or discontinuation of stay in hostel whichever is earlier.
  • In-case of any damage or loss of the hostel property , caused by the students or due to any misconduct of the student during their stay in hostel, the charges will be paid by the student immediately as applicable as per list in the Hostel Rule Book, on the portal, by the student, as directed by the Warden/Rector of their respective hostel. If the penalty amount for any act exceeds the amount mentioned in the penalty list then the same will be deducted from the hostel deposit.

Hostel Exit Process

A Clearance application in the prescribed format (available at the hostel office) is required to be filled by the students one week before leaving the hostel. On the receipt of application, refund amount cheque will be ready within one month and students will be intimated the same thru sms.
